Jonathan Chu, MD
Dr. Jonathan Chu is a board-certified physician in the fields of Interventional Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).

Dr. Chu earned his medical degree from the Penn State College of Medicine / Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Here, he was awarded the College of Medicine Medical Student Research Award and the Family and Community Medicine Department Exceptional Teacher Award, selected to be a member of the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society, and was also elected class speaker for the 2011 Student Clinician Ceremony.
Afterwards, he completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Lankenau Medical Center, outside of Philadelphia.
Next, Dr. Chu pursued residency training in the field of PM&R at the Weill Cornell Medical Center and Columbia University Medical Center Combined Program. Here, he received premier training in musculoskeletal medicine, spinal cord injury medicine, neurorehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation, and electrodiagnostic medicine.
He went on to fulfill a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center, where he learned advanced procedures for the treatment of pain from several renowned leaders in the field.
His research evaluating the use of diffusion tensor imaging in early-onset Parkinson’s disease was published in the journal, Parkinsonism & Related Disorders. He is a contributing author to the textbook, Peripheral Nerve Injury And Pain (Leung, Nova Science Publishers, 2019).
Dr. Chu practiced Interventional Pain Medicine and PM&R as an attending physician for several years, serving thousands of wonderful patients in the Central Pennsylvania area.
He then made the decision to switch to practicing as a locum tenens physician, which allowed him the time to also pursue his lifelong passions of filmmaking, writing, entrepreneurship, and world travel. He founded 360 Pain Academy, a premier platform for providing trustworthy and engaging patient education, with an emphasis on spine and musculoskeletal conditions. He also founded Engine Media, an independent film and multimedia production company. He is currently based in Philadelphia, and he has traveled to over 20 countries and counting.
